About Fortnightly Week-end Programs for Start-ups (Silk Route Start-up Weekends):
startup_weekendCompared to national average of 2.1%, J&K has a whopping unemployment rate of 4.9% with approximately 2.5 lac educated but unemployed youth. It was in this backdrop that the State Government in its latest budget has shifted its focus from Govt. jobs to Entrepreneurship as the speech of the Finance Ministers states “Employment through Enterprise’ shall remain the sole policy preamble of the government to address the problem of unemployment”. Now, with an endeavor to educate and handhold a huge number of potential entrepreneurs in Kashmir, SRCG shall be conducting fortnightly programs on alternate Saturdays and Sundays in central, south and north Kashmir. The highlights of the programs shall be:

iii. Size of the workshop = 20-40 participants
iv. No. of workshops in FY-2015-16 = 26 annually
v. The participants will be required to submit their registration forms online (www.thesilkroutegroup.com) in advance. After which a telephonic screening will be done based on qualification, background, creative thinking and the participant’s start-up idea. A maximum of 40 participants will be selected per workshop.
